Yes, every truffle has an expiration date and can go bad. Store your Magic Truffles in the refrigerator upon receipt to keep them fresh for as long as possible. We do not recommend consuming expired truffles, even if they are always vacuum sealed.
Can you freeze Magic Truffles?
Due to the fragile nature of the truffle, we do not recommend freezing truffles. The effects will diminish or disappear completely. It is also difficult or impossible to check frozen Magic Truffles or Magic truffles that have been frozen for freshness or quality. This remains an important measuring point when it comes to the quality of Magic Truffles. The same advice also applies to magic mushrooms , never put them in the freezer.
Checking quality Magic Truffles
You can always do a test to see if the Magic Truffles are still good. First, you take them out of the packaging and put them in the box or in a bowl. See if the Magic Truffles look fresh and smell them. If they smell nutty with a slight sour hint, they are good.
It is also possible by touching the Magic Truffles. The Magic Truffles should feel a bit firm and give back pressure when you press them. If you feel like you’re almost squeezing them or if you can squeeze them fine, they’re probably no good anymore.
