Autoflowering (or Auto/Automatic) cannabis seeds are marijuana seeds that flowers automatically, as soon as the plant reaches a certain age. This distinct feature differs from most non-automatic cannabis strains, as most cannabis strains start flowering only when the daily light exposure drops to 12 hours (like the sun in the autumn).

Autoflowering cannabis strains have been developed by crossbreeding Ruderalis cannabis strain, which is a strain that is used to growing in some more extreme northern conditions (with little amounts of sunlight), with other more potent cannabis strains from warmer climates. That’s why autoflowering plants grow faster, smaller, and are less sensitive to conditions. Many experienced growers recommend picking a feminized plant if you are looking for quantity, but if you live in northern regions or want small er, less fragile plants – autoflowering is your way to go!

Most experts agree – high-quality seeds need high-quality genetics. And good genetics come from a powerful “family tree”. That means, that great cannabis genes come from scrupulous multi-generational crossbreeding, which leads to only the most exquisite plants with the most distinct and unique features.

Beyond that, seeds have to be fully mature before harvested – after that, they have to be stored in proper conditions and should be used within 16 months.

There are two main factors when choosing your perfect cannabis strain – growing and effects.

Let’s start with effects – cannabis strains mostly come in two main types, either Indica dominant or Sativa dominant. In most cases, Indica means more body effects, Sativa means more head high.

In a more powerful sense – You might want a strong Indica if You want to relax after work, lie down in Your couch and just be super relaxed. On the same perspective, you might want more Sativa effects when you want to uplift your mood, smoke it during the day, or just like smoking weed in a more social setting. To make things even more difficult, most cannabis strains on the market are hybrids, meaning they are mixes and can have both Sativa or Indica effects. That’s why you should always research the strain you are planning to grow, best if you can try it to be sure how it will personally affect you.

Not let’s discuss growing – there are two main types of growing, indoors or outdoors. There are also two types of seeds in the market – autoflowering or feminized. Feminized seeds, in most cases, can promise a bigger yield, but it will take longer to grow and the plant itself can be very tall. Autoflowering plants usually grow small, fast but bring a significantly smaller yield so they are a perfect choice for indoor or cold northern climate growing.
